Sonata Software announced a landmark $73 million, five-year transformational engagement with a major US-based company in the Technology, Media, and Telecom (TMT) sector.
This multi-year partnership marks a pivotal step in the client's digital strategy to enhance global scalability, accelerate innovation, and optimize IT operations through a strategic, AI-first outsourcing model. Sonata was chosen as the partner because of its deep engineering expertise, nimble delivery model, and proven track record in driving AI-powered business transformation.
Under this engagement, Sonata will establish a dedicated AI-enabled Modernization Engineering Center in India. The program will cover critical areas, including platform engineering, cloud transformation (Amazon Cloud), enterprise systems (Salesforce, Workday), cybersecurity, data services, and modern application development—all built on a foundation of automation and scalable engineering practices.
Sonata Software Ltd lost 10.69% today to trade at Rs 299.4. The BSE Information Technology index is down 1.97% to quote at 32219.32. The index is down 10.32 % over last one month. Among the other constituents of the index, Wipro Ltd decreased 5.72% and LTIMindtree Ltd lost 3.55% on the day. The BSE Information Technology index went down 6.34 % over last one year compared to the 5.39% surge in benchmark SENSEX.
Sonata Software Ltd has lost 15.7% over last one month compared to 10.32% fall in BSE Information Technology index and 2.09% rise in the SENSEX. On the BSE, 70970 shares were traded in the counter so far compared with average daily volumes of 54270 shares in the past one month. The stock hit a record high of Rs 762 on 30 Jul 2024. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 286.4 on 07 Apr 2025.
During its February 2025 earnings call, the company’s CFO, Jagannathan CN, stated that the company expected about 2.5% to 3.5% of degrowth next quarter, including a seasonal impact.
'While Q3 has been a strong growth quarter for us, we now expect Q4 to be a de-growth quarter for Sonata due to sudden ramp downs in this high-tech client and Quant seasonally weak quarter,' said MD & CEO, Samir Dhir during the earnings call held on 6 February 2025.
Sonata Software offers a comprehensive suite of services, including consulting, implementations, global rollouts, enhancements, and managed services. The company caters to customer needs across key areas such as ERP (finance, supply chain, commerce, human resources, and project operations), CRM (sales, service, and marketing), and Microsoft power platform.
The company’s consolidated net profit declined 1.39% to Rs 105.01 crore in Q3 FY25 as compared with Rs 106.49 crore in Q3 FY24. Net sales jumped 31.01% QoQ to Rs 2842.79 crore in Q3 FY25.
