Among the other constituents of the index, National Aluminium Company Ltd increased 1.42% and Steel Authority of India Ltd added 0.27% on the day. The BSE Metal index went up 46.21 % over last one year compared to the 7.72% fall in benchmark SENSEX.

The company reported 35.03% jump in standalone net profit to Rs 2,020.13 crore on 60.69% jump in revenue from operations to Rs 11,173.14 crore in Q4 FY26 over Q4 FY25.
The scrip rose 0.10% to Rs 95.44 on the BSE.

Iron ore production in the Chhattisgarh division jumped 30.39% YoY to 3.99 MT in May 2026, while sales climbed 11.33% YoY to 3.34 MT from 3 MT in May 2025.
On the other hand, the Karnataka division reported a 3.65% YoY decline in production to 1.32 MT in May 2026. Sales fell 47.76% YoY to 0.70 MT, compared with 1.34 MT in May 2025.
The company reported a 35.03% jump in standalone net profit to Rs 2,020.13 crore on a 60.69% jump in revenue from operations to Rs 11,173.14 crore in Q4 FY26 over Q4 FY25.
For the full year,net profit rose 13.89% to Rs 7450.42 crore in the year ended March 2026 as against Rs 6541.98 crore during the previous year ended March 2025. Sales rose 34.16% to Rs 32070.89 crore in the year ended March 2026 as against Rs 23905.52 crore during the previous year ended March 2025.
Duirng the quarter, iron ore production increased 22% to 162.72 lakh tonnes compared with 133.07 lakh tonnes in Q4 FY25. Iron ore sales jumped 21% YoY to 152.99 lakh tonnes.
Despite the volume growth, average domestic realization declined 5% to Rs 4,759 per tonne in Q4 FY26 from Rs 5,007 per tonne in the year-ago period.
On full year basis, the company’s standalone net profit jumped 10.89% to Rs 7,421.24 crore on 33.32% increase in revenue from operations to Rs 31,553.70 crore in FY26 over FY25.
Meanwhile, the company’s board recommended the payment of final dividend of Rs 1 per share on the face value of Rs 1 each for the financial year 2025-26.
The counter dropped 4.74% to end at Rs 87.90 on the BSE.
NMDC Ltd is up for a third straight session in a row. The stock is quoting at Rs 91.85, up 1.3% on the day as on 12:49 IST on the NSE. The benchmark NIFTY is up around 0.07% on the day, quoting at 23930.5. The Sensex is at 75999.31, down 0.01%. NMDC Ltd has risen around 1.05% in last one month.
Meanwhile, Nifty Metal index of which NMDC Ltd is a constituent, has risen around 5.15% in last one month and is currently quoting at 13492.55, up 1.67% on the day. The volume in the stock stood at 176.56 lakh shares today, compared to the daily average of 199.46 lakh shares in last one month.
The benchmark June futures contract for the stock is quoting at Rs 92.33, up 1.06% on the day. NMDC Ltd is up 29.62% in last one year as compared to a 3.32% drop in NIFTY and a 48.47% drop in the Nifty Metal index.
The PE of the stock is 11.56 based on TTM earnings ending December 25.
